Marysville's Veterans Day Parade has record entries
The 10th annual Yuba-Sutter Veterans Day Parade on Sunday through downtown Marysville is expected to have a record 160 entries.
The parade along D Street starts at 11 a.m. at Sixth Street, continues south and turns east onto Second Street and then north on C Street before ending at Fifth Street. The parade is scheduled rain or shine.
The public is also invited to a barbecue after the parade at the American Legion Post 807, 5477 Feather River Blvd. in Linda.
Cost for the barbecue is $4, with money raised going toward the post's fund for the Veterans Home of Yountville.
Other events commemorating Veterans Day include:
A Veterans Day program and dinner — today starting at 5 p.m. at the Lions Community Hall, 5667 Fruitland Road, Loma Rica, hosted by the Loma Rica Lioness Club. Cost for the ham dinner is $7 for adults and $5 for veterans and children under 12 years.
The Annual Veterans Day Breakfast — Sunday 7 a.m.-11:30 a.m. at the Marysville Elks Lodge, 920 D St. The cost for breakfast is a $4 donation and is free for those in military uniform.
Veterans Tribute Concert — Monday at 7 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Hall, 249 Sycamore St., Gridley. The free concert featuring the Oroville Community Concert Band is presented by the Military Veterans Court of Honor, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5731 and the American Legion Post 210.
In addition, the Museum of the Forgotten Warriors and Library Center, at 5865 A Road in Linda, is open to the public 10 a.m.-3 p.m. today, Sunday and Monday.
