30th Anniversary: Johns

Marysville residents Gary and Judy Johns, the former Judy Foster, are celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary with a trip to Palm Desert.

The coupled were married June 24, 1978, in Sacramento and are longtime Yuba-Sutter residents, living on Beale Air Force Base and in Yuba City before settling in Marysville.

He is employed at Hewitt Packard, working as a manager for more than 26 years; and a retired reservist with the Air Force.

He is also serving as the pastor at Rhema Christian Center in Roseville, where she is an adviser to the youth and women's groups.

She has worked with Habitat for Humanity with a youth group and was an instructor for the Sutter County School Drug Prevention Program.

Both have several college degrees — he an associate's from Yuba College, bachelor's in government from California State University, Sacramento and master's in public administration from Golden Gate University; and she an associate's from Sacramento City College, bachelor's in journalism from CSU Sacramento and master's in public administration from Chapman University.

Their interests include working with youth, plus travel and watching sports for him and shopping and playing the piano for her.

They have two children, Twyla Johns of Sacramento and Anthony Johns of Fresno.
