Marian L. Regli

Marian L. Regli, 85, of Nicolaus died Dec. 12, 2006, at Enloe Medical Center in Chico.


Born in Stockton, she was a Yuba-Sutter resident for 59 years, living in Chico for the past four years.


A teacher at Nicolaus Grammar School for two years and East Nicolaus High School for 26 years, she was a 1943 graduate of the College of the Pacific where she earned her secondary teaching credential.


She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association, Delta Kappa Gamma, Fairview Community Church and Sutter County Historical Society board.


Also, she was a volunteer for the Community Memorial Museum of Sutter County and a past secretary of the Yuba-Sutter Regional Arts Council for 15 years.


Survivors include a son, Mel Regli Jr. of Nicolaus; a daughter, Susan Simmons of Durham; a brother, Gordon Fergusson of Sacramento; and four grandsons.


She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Melvin Regli Sr.


Donations may be made to ENHS Alumni Association, P.O. Box 88, Nicolaus; and the Community Memorial Museum of Sutter County and Sutter County Historical Society, both at 1333 Butte House Road, Yuba City, CA 95993.


Services: A memorial service is scheduled at 1 p.m. Monday at Fairview Community Christian Church, 1991 Pacific Ave., Trowbridge. Arrangements are under the direction of Ullrey Memorial Chapel in Yuba City.
