Former Y-S resident inducted
Former Yuba-Sutter resident Jo-an Soso Barnett was inducted into the American Paint Horse Association’s first Hall of Fame during the organization’s 2012 annual convention in October in Fort Worth, Texas.
Fifty members – 25 people and 25 horses – were selected for the hall of fame that is honoring influential members of the Paint Horse community.
A quintet of horses purchased by Barnett and her late husband, Robert Soso, at their Overo Acres ranch in Live Oak, later led to stallion Sabru Indio that was also inducted into the hall of fame.
Jo-an Soso Barnett later married rodeo producer Cotton Rosser. The two started a long-term Paint breeding program at Rosser’s Flying U Rodeo Company in Yuba County.
