Joyce M. Sherman

Joyce Mary “Granny” Sherman, 79, of Alba, Texas, died March 3, 2007, at East Texas Medical Center in Quitman, Texas.

Born in Leeds, England, she was a Yuba-Sutter resident from 1959 to 1987, living in Pleasant Grove. Also, she lived in Roseville from 1987 to 2000 before settling in Alba, Texas.

She was a homemaker.

Survivors include eight sons, Ray Hermann and Charles David Sherman, both of Wheatland, Richard Dale Sherman and John Glenn Sherman, both of Sacramento, Mike Hermann of Modesto, Paul Hermann of Los Angeles, Cody Lee Sherman of Aubrey, Texas, and Mark Bradley Sherman of Pine Bluff, Ark.; four daughters, Dorothy Ann Graham of Greenville, Texas, Melodie Kay Sherman of Conway, Ark., Joy Michelle Flanagan of Alba, Texas, and Amber Lynn Carter of Emory, Texas; 33 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Services: A service is at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, 300 W. Holley St., Alba, Texas. Pastors Mike Moss and Ty Marler will officiate.
