Letter: Thank veterans, those who serve

I would just like to take this time out to say "thank you" to my next-door neigbor, Steven "Taco" Bell for serving our country. Sgt. Bell just returned from a six-month tour in Afghanistan. As a veteran I appreciate the sacrifices that he and his family have made to protect the freedoms and rights that so many of us take for granted.

Veterans Day is on Wednesday, Nov. 11, and I think everyone should take time out to thank a veteran and active duy personnel for their service to our country.

It takes a special person to do what they do. They don't do it for the glamour, fame and especially not the money. They do it because they have a sense of duty and pride for what they believe in.
