The Acting Company will celebrate the 25th anniversary of its founding this weekend with a special performance of "Jesus Christ Superstar."

Performances of the production are at 6:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 1:30 p.m. Sunday at 815 B St., Yuba City.

Tickets are $50. Proceeds generated from the production will go toward renovations of the group's theater.

The production is directed by Curt Schroeder, who helped found Theater '86 with a group of local actors and live theater enthusiasts in 1983.

In 1991, the group purchased its B street theater and became The Acting Company.

Since then, The Acting Company has garnered multiple acting awards and honors for its productions and contributions to live theater.
