Letter: The Acting Company expresses gratitude

Comments 0 | Recommend 0

Our deep appreciation to those who attended last weekend's performances of "Jesus Christ Superstar in Concert" in celebration of the 25th anniversary of the community theater. And to those who gave donations, you are truly awesome.

After expenses, we will have nearly $11,000 for theater upgrades.

The fundraiser was a passion of Curt Schroeder's, who along with Pat Hill and others founded the theater company. Curt assembled the cast of 20 singers and members of the 13-piece orchestra. Tickets were sold under the leadership of Judie Jacoby. The first-rate reception was headed by Sherry Fancher.

Space doesn't allow me to personally thank the dozens of other people who stepped up to make this a first-class production, which is one of the most memorable to grace The Acting Company stage.

We invite the community to attend the upcoming main stage plays, "Wit" and "Best Christmas Pageant Ever." Our children's theater is featuring "The True Story of Gretel and Hansel" and "A Hillbilly Christmas Carol." Get more information at www.actingcompany.org

HOMELESS SHELTER?
Yuba City is considering using the former fire station No. 4 on Walton Avenue as a cold-weather shelter for homeless families. Is this a good idea?
Yes. We've gone too long with limited options for homeless families.
It's a good idea, but the fire station is a bad location for this.
No. The city has better things they can use the building for.
I'm not sure.
