What keeps you in Yuba-Sutter? When I was 20, my fiancé and I went to Georgia — I have family back there — for seven months, then we moved back here. I missed my family and friends.

What do you like about the area? The familiar faces, familiar area, knowing how everything goes.

Where would you like to live someday? Montana — I have family there I've never met. But every picture (of the state) is beautiful and rural. Instead of being around tow,n I would like to look outside and see trees, mountains.

What is the closest you've been to a famous person? My uncle was very good friends with Christian rapper T-Bone, who has family here.

If you were granted one wish, what would you wish for? I would like to have enough money — wouldn't have to be rich — to be secure and not worry about bills.

Who has had a strong influence in your life? My aunt Bobbie or my grandmother.

Where is your dream vacation? Either New York City or Paris.

Tell us about a memorable experience: My aunt Bobbie had breast cancer a few years ago — before her mastectomy I went to visit her at the hospital. Seeing her there was hard for me. It made me think of how strong she has been for me and I had to hold it together for that one moment. She's doing OK now, in full recovery.

What is your dream job? Being able to counsel people; l would like to help others.

What do you like about yourself? I like to laugh and joke a lot.

What is your pet peeve? People who don't give you a chance to explain anything.

Favorite book: "It Happened to Nancy" — I read that about 15 times in school.

What did you want to be when you were a kid? In high school I wanted to go into cosmetology.
