40th Anniversary: Hamilton
Longtime Yuba City residents Dr. Vincent and Mary Jean Hamilton, the former Mary Jean Landrum, are celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary with a trip to the Greek Isles.
Their celebrations began earlier with a trip to Half Moon Bay.
The couple met as students at the University of Tennessee in Memphis and were married June 26, 1971, at the First Methodist Church in Paragould, Ark.
He has been practicing general and vascular surgery in the Yuba-Sutter area for the past 34 years. A graduate of Yuba City High School, Tulane University and the University of Tennessee Medical School, he completed his internship and residency in general surgery at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, Va.
She is a graduate of the University of Tennessee with a bachelor’s degree in nursing and formerly worked at the Medical College of Virginia’s burn unit. She works in her husband’s office.
Both active in the community, they are members of the Southland Supper Club and St. John’s Episcopal Church.
Their family includes three children, Emily Pillars of Dublin, Heather Hamilton of Salem, Ore., and James Hamilton of Seneca, S.C.; and two grandchildren.
