Family: Three siblings, Dyane Ferrin of Yuba City, Kitty Inlow of Groveland and Michael Vegas of Hat Creek; son, Ronald Brandmire of Reno, Nev.; daughter, Julie Dow of Dublin; and two granddaughters.

Occupation: I am a retired nurses assistant and previously worked in nursery care with infants and toddlers in Placerville. Now I am a student at Yuba College studying to get my associate’s degree in American Sign Language.
Hobbies, interests: I am a student, so that keeps me pretty busy.
What brought you to the Yuba-Sutter area? I moved here in December after my husband died. I needed a change so I moved in with my sister.
Place of worship you attend: I just started attending St. Isidore Catholic Church in Yuba City. I also watch church services on TV when I can’t get a ride to take me.
How long have you attended? Only since Ash Wednesday.
What is the importance of faith in your life? It gives me something to believe in. It answers alot of questions like: Why are we here? Why do we exist? Through faith we find answers to those questions. As a child you start believing in faith and as an adult you understand it.
How do you live out your faith? I wake up and think that God’s given me a new day to start over. Morning services on the television is how I start my day. When my husband was alive, I would wake up and go to church every Friday and Saturday.
Faith in Action appears Saturdays. It features a member of a church, temple or mosque and the importance of their faith.
