William Jessup University in Rocklin is hosting an information session about its new Yellow Ribbon Program, a full tuition scholarship program for local veterans.
The session is from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at 333 Sunset Blvd.
Offering a full-ride scholarship in any of the programs at the university, the Yellow Ribbon Program is open to veterans who have served on active duty for at least 36 aggregate month since Sept. 11, 2001.
The scholarship is made possible through a provision by the Veterans Administration added to the new post 9/11 GI Bill, effective Aug. 1, for the 2009-2010 academic year.

Batres is among the more than 7,500 sailors of the Ronald Reagan Carrier Strike Group which relieved the Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group as Commander, Task Force 50 and launched its first aircraft sorties from Carrier Air Wing 14 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan.
He is a 2006 graduate of Wheatland Union High School.
