William Jessup University in Rocklin is hosting an information session about its new Yellow Ribbon Program, a full tuition scholarship program for local veterans.
The session is from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at 333 Sunset Blvd.
Offering a full-ride scholarship in any of the programs at the university, the Yellow Ribbon Program is open to veterans who have served on active duty for at least 36 aggregate month since Sept. 11, 2001.
The scholarship is made possible through a provision by the Veterans Administration added to the new post 9/11 GI Bill, effective Aug. 1, for the 2009-2010 academic year.

Navy Airman Apprentice Nikolaus A. Batres is among the more than 7,500 sailors of the Ronald Reagan Carrier Strike Group which relieved the Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group as Commander, Task Force 50 and launched its first aircraft sorties from Carrier Air Wing 14 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan.
He is a 2006 graduate of Wheatland Union High School.
This is the fourth deployment for the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan.

Army Pvt. Jonathan L. Ritchson graduated from the Infantryman One Station Unit Training at Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga.
A 2008 graduate of Yuba City High School, he is the son of Robin Ritchson and grandson of Dennis and Darlene Abella, all of Yuba City.

Air Force Airman Stephen C. Hornyak graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.
The son of Don Hornyak of Yuba City, he is a 2006 graduate of New Life Christian School.

Air Force Airman 1st Class Raymond O. Lorona, the son of Raymond Lorona of Linda, graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.
He is 2008 graduate of Lindhurst High School.

Air Force Airman Brian K. Leclair Jr. graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.
He is the grandson of Christine Leclair of Marysville.
