Letter: No 'dumb growth,' no on Measure N

Comments 0 | Recommend 0

About 2,900 homes in Yuba County are in the foreclosure process (www.foreclosures.com).

Yet they want to build another 5,000 and more houses in the Yuba Highlands scheme. They just don’t get it; economics are driven by supply and demand. There is already a glut of existing housing in Yuba County. Real estate values are falling. There are thousands more units approved and planned for existing communities, yet the Planning Commission continues to approve hundreds more units.

What is your house worth today? Could you sell it if you had to?

Vote “no” to “dumb growth.” Vote “no” to encroachment. Vote “no” to a “rubber-stamp” planning department. Vote “no” to taxpayer bailout of failed infrastructure. Vote “no” to Yuba Highlands. Vote “no” on Measure N.

BACK TO SCHOOL?
The new GI Bill benefits vary from state to state depending on tuition and fees, replacing the previous flat stipend, and also includes a formula for private college assistance. Do you agree with this approach?
Yes, it allows veterans more choices of where to attend college.
I like it, but the private school policy is flawed in California.
I think it's too generous.
No, it pits states against each other.
