Hobbies, interests: Politics, computers, music all kinds.
What brought you to the Yuba-Sutter area? Project Liberty at Beale, its the Air Force’s new reconnaissance aircraft.
Place of worship you attend: Two: First United Methodist in Marysville and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marysville. My wife is Catholic and I’m Methodist, so we attend both.
How long have you attended? We got here in June of 2011, and since then we have attended.
What is the importance of faith in your life? Extremely important. I am a retired army officer with three combat tours in the Middle East. From my experience, I learned that its one thing to be responsible for your own life; another to be responsible for other’s lives. You realize there are things more important than yourself. And you actually need a higher power for guidance.
How do you live out your faith? Ghandi said, “I love your Christ but I don’t like your Christians.” As a Christian I ask myself, “what can I do to change those impressions?” I might be the only opportunity a person has to see a Christian on a daily basis. That’s how I live my faith everyday. There is no such thing as an atheist in a foxhole, when you are getting shot at, everyone prays.
