Letter: Stop patching start fixing
Yuba City's Hillcrest water meets federal and state safety standards only because of some temporary patches the city has made to the system. Now, homeowners in the Hillcrest Water system have an opportunity to convert from our existing, poor quality well water to the City's much better surface water.
There has been some acrimonious debate over this but it really comes down to this, if you live in the Hillcrest two-third area, would you rather pay an extra $20 per month to get good water or pay an extra $28 per month so that you can keep getting the same poor quality water that you are getting now? Doing nothing is not an option.
If you live in the Hillcrest 1 area, are you interested in paying about $20 a month extra to have better quality water?
When you cut through all of the rhetoric, it's really about that simple.
Visit www.hillcrestwater.org to learn more about this and to get involved in supporting the effort for better water.
