Letter: Proposal for Hillcrest water

Yes, Mr. Leighton there has been bitter feelings about the Hillcrest water issue ("Stop patching, start fixing," June 8).

The city wants to add a 30-inch line for future development that greatly benefits the city and the real estate business, and charge the Hillcrest water users for the line.

I'm sure, and I only speak for myself, that if the city would hook to our existing line at the point where they both (surface and Hillcrest water) are on the same street, there would be less cost involved and I think the Hillcrest water users would go along with it.
