Vendor space is available for the first Miss Bliss Golden State Women's Expo scheduled Oct. 1 at the Yuba-Sutter Fairgrounds in Yuba City.

The event will cater specifically to the wants and needs of women, ranging from beauty and health to hobbies and finance.

Sunset Moulding honored by Cal/OSHA

Making safety a part of the company culture has brought Sunset Moulding Co. recognition from California Occupational Safety and Health.

The Live Oak division of the company has received the Golden Gate Partnership Recognition award from Cal/OSHA Consultation Service, whose officials said the company's commitment to safe conditions was obvious at first glance.

According to a press release, the company began working with Cal/OSHA consultants after hearing of the program through the Yuba-Sutter Economic Development Corporation. Doing so helped the company improve its workplace practices related to safety.

New eatery Wingstop gets business development loan

Wingstop, a new restaurant in the Yuba-Sutter area, is one of the latest businesses to receive a business loan through the Sutter County Community Development Block Grant Loan Program administered by the Yuba-Sutter Economic Development Corporation.

The new franchise, open in Sutter Buttes Marketplace, 1707 Colusa Ave., Yuba City, is owned by partners Bhupinder "Bob" Uppal and Ajit Mann.

Several ribbon-cutting ceremonies hosted by the Yuba-Sutter Chamber of Commerce are scheduled next month throughout the community.
