Three cheers letter: Plumas Street businesses congratulated

As I read my paper each morning, I'm reminded of the effort and perseverance of the 90 Yuba-Sutter small businesses on Plumas Street and how hard they work to stay in business.

The owners of these small, individually owned and operated shops must have "nerves of steel" in today's uncertain and tenuous economy as they come to work daily and compete. It would be a lot simpler to close up and work for someone else, but they don't.

They really deserve our support and thanks for providing us with a pleasant place to shop, walk, eat and meet. They live here, employ your neighbors here and pay their taxes here. So who better deserves our support as shoppers?

They work to improve our area … so when you get in your car and are tempted to drive 50 miles to shop, look around and I think with a little thought you will be able to find what you need on Plumas Street.

It really is a "beautiful downtown" right in Yuba City and we need to say "Thanks and Three Cheers!" to them for their efforts.
