Three Cheers: Cheers for her benefactors

Comments 0 | Recommend 0

I am a Marysville High School cheerleader, freshman year. Participating in after-school sports is very expensive. This year I had to raise more than $900 to participate. My sister was also a cheerleader and every year the cost increases.

With the way things are right now everyone is having a hard time donating and raising money is getting harder. We had many fundraisers planned but they only covered about a third of the cost. I visited many businesses in the Marysville High School area asking for sponsors and I just want to thank the following companies that helped sponsor me: Fruitland Road Automotive in Loma Rica, Buttacavoli Industries Inc. in Marysville, Willow Glen Restaurant in Oregon House, El Charritos Mexican Deli in Loma Rica and Cori's Corner Beauty Salon in Loma Rica.

Thank you all for your help.

PAY HIKE?
What should the board of trustees do with the proposed $29,282 pay raise for Chancellor Nicki Harrington?
Rescind it. Now is not the time.
Give it to her. She should be compensated fairly and competitively.
