Roundup: Yuba's Horsfall takes first at invitational

At the 10-team Ed Adams Invitational in Salinas, Matt Horsfall was in a class of his own.
The Yuba College track and field athlete won the javelin event with a throw of 178 feet, 11 inches to take first by a wide margin on Saturday at Hartnell College. Yuba's Jon Garcia took second (157-7).
Rafeal Valdez was eighth in the hammer throw (108-7) and Meredith Salazar competed well on the women's side with a 5:42 run in the 1500 meters.

The Comets scored three runs in the eight and walked-off with a road victory over the 49ers.
Anthony Stolo and Daniel Atkins were both 2 for 4 for the 49ers (9-18, 5-11).
