Caregiver event set Wednesday
A caregiver education workshop is planned from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Yuba City Senior Center, 777 Ainsley Ave.
The free workshop includes learning to communicate compassionately with a loved one with dementia.

Conservator training planned
Horizon Resource and Care Management is conducting a two-session class for nonprofessionals appointed as conservators for a family member or friend.
The sessions are from noon to 3 p.m. Friday at 1095 Stafford Way, Suite E, Yuba City. The cost is $5 per session.

Merchant join in Christmas event
Businesses throughout the Yuba County foothills are taking part in the annual Christmas in the Foothills sponsored by the Yuba Feather Communities Services.
Shoppers can stop at 17 locations from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 3 and 4 in Brownsville, Dobbins, Forbestown and Oregon House.
Each location will be marked with a bright sign, with maps available at each site.
Businesses include Foothill ACE Hardware in Oregon House, Dobbins School in Dobbins and Garbarino’s Fresh Market in Browns Valley.
The event is co-sponsored by the Rabbit Creek Journal.

Art Club features music program
Students from the Marysville Academy for the Arts will present a musical program at the next meeting of the Marysville Art Club.
As a part of their December program, members are asked to bring donations of socks for the needy.
The meeting is at noon Dec. 5 at 420 10th St., Marysville.

Tea party focuses on marijuana
Yuba County Sheriff Steve Durfor will talk about issues surrounding medical marijuana at the upcoming meeting of the Sutter Buttes Tea Party Patriots.
The regular meeting is at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 5, with doors opening at 6 p.m., at the Hans Miller building, 420 Miles Ave., Yuba City.

Christmas theme for luncheon
“Christmas Joy!” is the theme of the next luncheon hosted by the Yuba City/Marysville Christian Women’s Connection.
Featuring a jewelry fashion show, the luncheon is from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dec. 13 at the Bonanza Inn Convention Center, 1001 Clark Ave., Yuba City.
The program includes Christmas melodies by Carol Keesling and speaker Mary Moffitt with “Mary Remembers,” a one-person Christmas drama.
Cost for the luncheon is $14, inclusive.

FFA members receive honors
Members of area Future Farmers of America chapters clubs have received the American Future Farmers of America degree.
Honored were Margery Magill of the Marysville FFA Chapter and Joseph Bishop of the Wheatland FFA Chapter.
Each received a Gold American FFA Degree key and a certificate.
The local residents are among the 3,241 members recognized for the degree.

Native Daughters install officers
Visiting Grand Parlor President Marilynn Rodriquez participated in the installation of two new members in the Native Daughters of the Golden West South Butte Parlor No. 226.
Installed were Denise Sebilian and Ruby Dickey-Mena.
During her visit in Sutter on Oct. 24, Rodriquez explained her special project for the year, scholarships for returning veterans educational funds.
Native Daughters, a fraternal organization open to women ages 16 and over born in California, is celebrating 125 years of service to the state.
