Travel Fair planned Feb. 4
Information about vacations, vacation home rental, tour companies and cruise lines are part of the third annual Travel Fair in Yuba City sponsored by Destinations Travel.

Teen pregnancy is AAUW topic
The detrimental effects of Yuba-Sutter’s exceptionally high teenage pregnancy on individuals and the community is the featured topic at this month’s meeting of the American Association of University Women.
Four members of the local health and education community are taking part in the panel discussion.
The meeting is at 10 a.m. Feb. 18 at the Fremont-Rideout Conference Center, 989 Plumas St., Yuba City. The cost is $15.

Safari Club banquet planned
Tickets and sponsorship opportunities are available for the fifth Annual Sutter-Buttes Chapter Safari Club fundraiser banquet and auction.
The event is set March 3 at the Colusa Casino CICC gymnasium, 3730 Highway 405, Colusa.
Doors open at 5 p.m., with dinner at 7 p.m.
In addition, a pre-event reception is planned March 2 for the first 50 persons to sign up for the fundraiser.

Flower show bus trip scheduled
Sutter Buttes Garden Club is hosting a bus trip to the San Francisco Flower and Garden Show at the San Mateo Event Center.
Set March 21, the tour bus departs at 8 a.m. from the Kmart parking lot on Gray Avenue and returns at about 7 p.m.
Tickets are $60 per person and include admission to the show, parking and the driver’s tip.

Gridley
Girl Scout troop wins food honor
A Girl Scout troop from Gridley donated the highest percentage of food items to a local food group during the Lindsay Olives’ Santa Cause, a nationwide contest asking kids to help other kids who are hungry over the holiday season.
Three members of the Gridley Girl Scouts troop collected and donated 1,500 pounds of food for the Presbyterian community food closet.
The troop has been awarded $3,000 for the purchase of equipment and supplies or to fund a special program.
Nationwide, Girl and Boy Scout troops, Boys and Girls clubs, student councils and classes donated almost 15,000 pounds of food to food banks during the 2011 holiday season.
As part of the holiday program, Lindsay Olives, headquartered in Lafayette, is donating almost 5,000 cans of olives to food banks across the country to fulfill its pledge to donate one can of olives for each can purchased during the holiday season.
Marysville
Heart health topic for Art Club
The Marysville Art Club meets Feb. 6, with a program concerning heart health.
The luncheon meeting, with pork loin and rice pilaf, starts at noon at 420 10th St., Marysville. Dessert is Margaret Pursch’s cream puffs.

Caregiver support groups offered
Family SOUP is hosting caregiver support groups meetings twice a week at 1650 Sierra Ave., Suite 106, Yuba City.
The groups meet at 10:30 a.m. Tuesdays and 6:30 p.m. Thursdays.

Family SOUP, for families with children with special needs, is sponsored by the Sutter County Children and Family Commission.
