What brought you to the Yuba-Sutter area? My parents moved us here from Davis when I was in the fourth grade.
What keeps you in the Yuba-Sutter area? The small-town atmosphere, it's close to the ocean and mountains, it has a good strong sense of community.
What would you do with a million dollars? A cruise around the world.
Who in your life has affected you the most? My parents. The work ethic they instilled in me I'm trying to instill in my kids. At the end of the day if you've given it all, you can rest easy. And I look at their relationship. They've been married a long time.
Tell us about a life-changing experience: Graduation from college. It hits home that now you're your own person. Things your parents instilled in you are now all a reality.
Favorite places in the area: We spend a lot of time at the local parks. Most recently my 4-year-old likes movies, though I think she likes the popcorn and ICEE more than the movie.
What is your dream job? Committing to volunteering more in the community.
What are some of your fondest memories? The birth of both of my daughters. My wife was extremely sick during both pregnancies, so to have my kids here healthy, and my wife healthy, was a blessing.
What would you change about the community? More jobs, the unemployment rate is too high. More national chain restaurants would be nice.
What was the last good book you read? "Total Money Makeover" by Dave Ramsey.
Movie you must stop and watch while flipping through the TV channels: "The Shawshank Redemption."
Pet peeve: People who just drop in on you.
What did you want to be when you were a kid? A pediatrician.
Favorite television show: "Modern Family."
