YUBA CITY
Crossroads hosting 4th celebration
Crossroads Community Church in Yuba City is hosting its annual Celebrate America Independence Day outdoor concert, barbecue and fireworks.
The free event is set today, starting at 6:30 p.m., at the church's parking lot, 445 B St.
Activities include God's Country Band at 6:30 p.m.; Lisa Daggs in concert at 7 p.m.; barbecue dinner at 8:30 p.m.; and fireworks for children at 9:15 p.m.

Hope Point theme is our nation
Hope for Our Nation is the theme this weekend at Hope Point Nazarene, 600 N. George Washington Blvd., Yuba City.
The church is sharing a message of hope and bringing practical resources for veterans, active military and their families.
The weekend starts with a community barbecue at 6 p.m. today. The cost is $3 per person.
On Sunday, services and support resources are at 8, 9:30 and 11:15 a.m.

Christ Temple has new pastor
Christ Temple Community Church in Yuba City is welcoming its new interim pastor, Elder John Hammond Sr.
He will start his service Sunday with the service at 11 a.m. The church is at 2181 Live Oak Blvd.
Baptized in 1967 in Sacramento, Hammond Sr. has served as executive secretary to the board and as youth leader in the California District Council as well as founding and pastoring at Christ Temple Community Church in Makakilo, Kapolei, Hawaii.
