50th Anniversary: Peters
Yuba City residents Stacy and Karen Peters, the former Karen Kizer, are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary with family and friends.
The longtime Yuba-Sutter residents met at a Halloween party in 1960 and were married Aug. 19, 1962, in Yuba City. They lived in Arboga for 26 years before settling in Yuba City.
Originally from Oklahoma, he retired from Erickson Lumber Company after more than 40 years of service and later worked for Rideout Memorial Hospital in environmental services for five years.
A lifelong Yuba-Sutter resident, she worked for Harter’s Cannery for about 15 years and retired from the US Postal Service after more than 20 years of service.
He enjoys fishing and she is a member of the Valley Quilt Guild. Both enjoy traveling.
Their family includes two children, Debbie Arostegui and Kenny Peters, both of Yuba City; and two grandchildren.
