Moose center hosts open house
Yuba City Moose Family Center is hosting a Heard of Moose Open House from 2 p.m.- 5 p.m. today at the lodge, 205 S. Walton Ave., Yuba City.
The free event includes tours of the building and booths providing information about the organization and its community service efforts.
Olivehurst
Seniors plan rummage sale
The Yuba County Seniors Rummage Sale is set from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Oct. 6 at the senior center, 4979 Olivehurst Ave., Olivehurst.
Donations for the sale are being accepted through Friday.

Wheatland
Benefit run set Sunday morning
"Run Your Gourd Off" is the theme of a new race event Sunday morning at Bishop's Pumpkin Farm, 1415 Pumpkin Lane, Wheatland.
The event, with three courses, includes:
5K run starting at 9 a.m., cost $32 per person;
12K at 9:15 a.m., cost $42 per person;
Half-mile Pumpkin Dash, for ages 12 and under, at 11:30 a.m., cost $15 per person.
Registration for all races is from 7:45 a.m.-11 a.m.
The event is presented by Fleet Feet Sports, with a portion of net proceeds to benefit after school programs at Wheatland High School.

Art Club holds luncheon meet
Marysville Art Club's first luncheon meeting of the 2012/2013 year is scheduled at noon Monday at 420 10th St., Marysville.
The luncheon features artichoke chicken and side dishes and a program by singer Yvette Carter.

The club is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year.
Yuba City
Square dancers tour Sutter Buttes
Good Vibrations Square Dance Club and Harvest Hoedown are hosting a four-hour bus tour of the Sutter Buttes with narration by local historian Don Burtis.
The tour is from noon-4 p.m. Oct. 26, coordinated by the Middle Mountain Foundation.
The cost is $15 per person, with reservations required. Space is limited.
Participants will meet at the Yuba-Sutter Fairgrounds' Wagon Master Table entrance on Franklin Avenue in Yuba City.

Live Oak/Biggs/Gridley
14 Mile Yard Sale planned Oct. 6
Sales from Live Oak to Gridley to Biggs are part of the 14 Mile Yard Sale set from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Oct. 6.
Maps of yard sale locations will be handed out starting at 7 a.m. at Daddow Park on Virginia Street in Gridley; at Live Oak City Hall, 9955 Live Oak Blvd.; and at the Biggs post office, 2994 Sixth St.
The Gridley portion at Daddow Park, sponsored by the Gridley Business Improvement District, includes vendors, a performance by the Good Vibrations Square Dance Club and the annual Gridley Chili Cook Off starting at 10 a.m., with judging at 1 p.m.
