Briefs: Tickets available for fashion show
Tickets are available for the 11th Annual Survivor Fashion Show and Dinner, one of several Pink October activities in the community.
Models wearing clothing from various local stores will be escorted by Yuba City and Sutter County firemen.
The event on Oct. 29 starts with a social hour at 5:30 p.m. followed by dinner at 7 p.m. at St. Isidore's Church parish hall, 222 Clark Ave., Yuba City.
Tickets are $65 per person.

Discovery Shop seeks donations
Donations of home decorations, crystal and bric-a-brac are sought for the Holiday Magic/Trim a Home fundraiser sale at the American Red Cross Discovery Shop in Yuba City.
Volunteers are also needed at the shop.
The sale is Nov. 3 at the Feather Down Shopping Center, 1260 Stabler Lane, Suite 310.

Transit runs on Columbus Day
Columbus Day on Monday will not affect Yuba-Sutter Transit, with all but the supplemental Sacramento service operating as scheduled.
The service's administration offices, at 2100 B St. in Marysville, are also open.

Gleaners set distribution sites
Three locations are sites for the Yuba-Sutter Gleaners Food Bank monthly food distribution in the Yuba County foothills.
Distribution, on Oct. 18, is set at:
Brownsville: 8 a.m.-10:30 a.m. at Friday Night Live, 8408 La Porte Road.
Loma Rica: 8:30 a.m.-10 a.m. at Loma Rica Lions, 5667 Fruitland Road.
Dobbins: 8:30 a.m.-10 a.m. at Lake Francis Grange, 10775 Texas Hill Road.

Beale Air Force Base
Blood drive planned Oct. 19
The Community Activity Center on Beale Air Force Base is hosting a blood drive to collect donations for use at local hospitals.
The event is from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Oct. 19.
Donors must be at least 17 years old, or 16 with parental consent, weigh at least 110 pounds and be in generally good health.
Photo identification is required.

Blood donations collected are available to use for patients at several hospitals, including Rideout Memorial Hospital, Fremont Medical Center, Biggs-Gridley Memorial Hospital, Colusa Regional Medical Center and Sutter Surgical Hospital-North Valley.
