What brought you to the Yuba-Sutter area? When my husband, pastor of the First Lutheran Church, got his call. We've been here for about 4 1/2 years, moving from Exeter.
Where would you like to settle down someday? We're going to look at New Mexico. One of these days we plan a trip and see if it's what we think it is.
What is your dream vacation? We'd like to go to Europe. I was a college student in France in the late '60s and my husband has expressed an interest in seeing Europe.
What is the closest you've been to a famous person? I went to school with Pat Simmons of the Doobie Brothers. In college, I got to sing backup when they performed at some thing, before they were famous. They lived a couple of blocks away — I grew up in San Jose. Pat used to play guitar, and we all sat around and sang.
What would you do with a million dollars? Have a house for kids who are homeless. Not for adults, but teens who have been kicked out or run away, who need somebody.
Tell us about a favorite memory: When I was about 8 years old ... my aunt and uncle took me and my cousin to Disneyland. The thing that has become almost more memorable was that on the trip we stopped at as many California missions as possible — they were all different and beautiful.
What is your dream job? My husband says I should open a small restaurant when we retire, but I have always wanted to have a small nursery that was either herbs and/or hummingbird and butterfly plants.
