Briefs: Speaker set for benefit banquet

Bruce Wilkinson, the founder of the organization Walk Thru the Bible, is the featured speaker at the 25th annual Fall Benefit Banquet hosted by A Woman's Friend Pregnancy Resource Clinic in Marysville.

He has written more than 60 books and has spoken at national and international events.

The event is from 6:30 p.m.-9 p.m. Saturday at the Yuba-Sutter Fairgrounds' Yuba City Toyota Hall, 442 Franklin Ave., Yuba City.

The cost is $30 per seat or $300 for a table of 10.

E-waste recycle drive at college

An alternative fuel vehicle expo and an e-waste recycle drive are part of the National Alternative Fuel Vehicle Day from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesday at the Yuba College Linda campus.

Planned in the college's main quad, at 2088 N. Beale Road, the event also includes booths and demonstrations on sustainable products and practices.

The e-waste recycle drive, accepting electronic devices, bottles, cans and cardboard, will benefit various college clubs including auto, culinary arts and welding/ manufacturing.

The event is presented by the Yuba College Career Technical Education Department and Recology Yuba-Sutter.

Register for bowling event

Registration forms are available online for the sixth annual Bowling for Breasts, one of several Pink October activities held during the month in the community.

The fundraiser starts at 6 p.m. Saturday at Nu Generation Lanes, 876 w. Onstott Frontage Road, Yuba City.

The entry fee is $20 and can be paid at the door.

Dance studio hosts rummage sale

The JDE Booster Club is hosting its annual fall rummage sale two days in support of the dance studio's competition dancers, Team JDE.

The fundraiser is from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday and Saturday at Jacque's Dance Expressions' parking lot, 1570 Starr Drive, Yuba City.

Dancers perform at various local community events as well as taking part in competitions throughout Northern California.
