Work under way at new Yuba City animal shelter site

Grading work is under way at the new regional animal shelter site in Yuba City, according to Public Works Director George Musallam.
Monday’s rain caused the start of the project to be delayed by two days. The site is along Garden Highway, adjacent to the Sutter County Airport.
An access road will be first on the construction list, followed by work on the $5 million building’s foundation.
Recent disagreements on the Sutter Animal Services Authority Board of Directors, made up of officials from Yuba City, Sutter County, and Live Oak, previously stalled the project by five weeks.
