40th anniversary: Barrañón
Longtime Yuba City residents Luis and Catherine M. Barrañón, the former Catherine Lopez, celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary, with a future trip planned to Spain and France.
The couple were married Oct. 21, 1971, in San Diego where they resided for 13 years.
A Spanish teacher at Marysville High School since 1978, he received a bachelor's degree in Spanish from San Diego State University and a master's degree in education from LaVerne University.
An instructional aide at Yuba City High School, she has worked for the Yuba City Unified School District since 1973 and received her associate's degree from Yuba College in 1985.
In addition, she received her Zumba license this past September.
Both have been members of the Yuba City Racquet Club since 1976.
They have two sons, Miguel L. Barrañón of Yuba City and Andre P. Barrañón of Hollywood.
