Yuba Gardens school party set
A Christmas party is set for the 1956 class of Yuba Gardens, the school’s first eighth-grade graduating class.
The get-together is at 7 p.m. Dec. 8 at Ruthy’s Restaurant, 229 Clark Ave., Yuba City.
Dinner includes barbecue tri-tip, chicken, keilbasa and grilled vegetables.
The cost is $20 per person.

Pianist Thomas to perform Nov. 30
Pianist/vocalist Michael Thomas will perform original songs and classic rock favorites at 7 p.m. Nov. 30 at the Lee Burrows Art Center, 630 E St., Marysville.
Tickets for the On Stage production are $10 per person and can be purchased online at yubasutterarts.org/tickets or at the Yuba-Sutter Regional Arts Council office at 624 E St., Marysville.
Thomas performs at various venues in the Yuba-Sutter area and throughout Northern California.

Yuba City
Literacy tutors sought at library
Tutors are sought to assist local adults and children through the Sutter County Library’s literacy service.
Volunteers can help adults to read, write and speak English, prepare for career tests or prepare for citizenship; and help children with homework.
A training workshop for tutors is scheduled the last Saturday of each month, with the next one set Nov. 24, at the library located at 750 Forbes Ave., Yuba City.
No workshop is scheduled in December.

Fire marshal to address seniors
Yuba City Fire Marshal Jim Mathews is to be the guest speaker at the next meeting of Sons in Retirement in Yuba City.
He will talk about tips on how to be fire safe at home.
The luncheon meeting is at noon Dec. 3 at the Plaza Room, 210 Julie Drive in Yuba City.
