What brought you to the Yuba-Sutter area? Originally from Riverside County, I came here to go to Yuba College. I have two associate degrees, including one in criminal justice, and a bachelor's degree from Azusa Pacific University.
What do you like about the Yuba-Sutter area? It's very laid-back, secluded. It's like I'm in my own little area.
Where would you like to live someday? I can't say. I like to be able to live affordable, happy.
What is the closest you've been to a famous person? In Southern California, famous people are almost a dime a dozen. In Los Angeles, it's easy to be famous.
Who has had a strong influence in your life? The people I was surrounded by growing up — mentors, church groups. The mentors helped me, inspired me, to be the man I am today.
Tell us about a memorable experience: When my mother sent me off to college up here.
Favorite places to go to in the area? Chico, Sacramento, UC Davis — being surrounded by three schools is most amazing. Every day is a great day for me, seeing what I've seen in the big cities.
What is your dream job? Making a difference, with law enforcement, working with juveniles.
What would you like to see different the community? More young adults involved and driven in their lives.
What is your pet peeve? Seeing people who have the ability to work slack off instead; when people give up too easily.
What are you best known for? Working hard, staying out of trouble, being there for friends, staying focused.
What do you like about yourself? I have survived out of a crazy city like Los Angeles. I graduated from high school, stayed focus, have a clean record, am well-educated, well-employed. I feel like a man is supposed to feel in becoming a man.
