Olivehurst
Yuba Gardens to host fair
Yuba Gardens Middle School is hosting a vendor and craft fair from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at the school, 1964 11th Ave., Olivehurst.
The fair includes more than 30 vendors selling food, holiday sweets and handmade crafts.
Face painting, airbrush tattoos and a holiday photo booth are also part of the festivities.
Admission is free.
During the event, attendees can also watch a girls' basketball tournament with teams from middle schools throughout Northern California.
Admission to the basketball tournament is $2 for adults and $1 for students. Children ages six and younger are free.

Business scholarship open
Applications are being accepted through March 1 for the Entrepreneurial Scholarship offered by the Yuba, Sutter, Colusa Employer Advisory Council.
Applicants must show interest in starting a business locally and fill out a form, including a letter of recommendation by a community leader, and labor market information for the specific industry.
Two scholarships of $1,000 each will be awarded to one youth, between the ages of 16 to 21, and one adult, 22 years of age and older.
Applications can be mailed to or dropped off at the Employer Advisory Council, 950 Tharp Road, Suite 1000, Yuba City, CA 95993.

Yuba City
Shirley named to dean's list
Jessica Shirley of Yuba City was named to the spring 2012 dean's list at Biola University.
She is one of 1,306 students enrolled in 12 or more credit units honored for receiving a grade point average of 3.6 or above.
Biola University is a private Christian university located in La Mirada in Southern California.
