Yuba City

Walden earns bachelor's degree

Zach Walden of Yuba City graduated cum laude in December from Missouri Valley College, with a bachelor's degree in criminal justice.

He had been named to the fall 2012 dean's list.

Missouri Valley College, in Marshall, Mo., offers more than 40 academic programs, study abroad program, extracurricular activities and 13 sports.

Yuba-Sutter

Residents graduate from Azusa

Three Yuba-Sutter residents were among 750 graduates in December from Azusa Pacific University in Southern California.

Receiving bachelor's degrees were:

• Ellie Farley of Yuba City, nursing.

• Nicole Shirley of Yuba City, psychology.

• Rachel Young of Challenge, journalism.

The evangelical Christian university includes 52 undergraduate majors, 28 master's degrees, 10 credentials and eight doctoral programs.
