Baptists honor military members

Military Appreciation Sunday, a service to honor military members, is planned at 11 a.m. Jan. 27 at the First Baptist Church, 916 Plumas St., Yuba City.

Active and retired military members attending will receive free gifts and be honored.

Prayer witness event Tuesday

Local Christian groups have scheduled a peaceful prayer witness outside the Planned Parenthood office in Yuba City on Tuesday, the 40th anniversary of Roe vs. Wade and Doe vs. Bolton US Supreme Court decisions on abortion.

People will take part from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at 430 Palora Ave.
