100th birthday: Pauline Wheeler
Longtime Yuba-Sutter resident Pauline Wheeler will be celebrating her 100th birthday with festivities in Yuba City hosted by her children.
She was born Feb. 2, 1913, in Pasadena, and has been a resident of Yuba City for 47 years.
First working as a beauty operator in Pasadena during her 20s, she later worked in the banking industry off and on for 20 years before retiring.
But bored by retirement, she soon went back to work at the age of 70 for Home Savings in Yuba City.
She is active playing bingo, dominoes and pinochle at Sutter Estates, plus bingo at Village Green and enjoys ceramics classes at the Yuba City Senior Center.
In addition, she attends the Yuba City First United Methodist Church.
She has three children, Kathy Branaman of Roseville, Marilyn Reynholds of Anacortes, Wash., and Don May of Oahu, Hawaii.
Her family also includes 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
