Ex-water official to discuss dams
Donald Schrader, former Yuba County Water Agency chairman, will talk about the removal of Englebright and Daguerre Point dams on the lower Yuba River and the effect on the area during the next meeting of the Sutter Buttes Tea Party Patriots.
He is also a former Yuba County supervisor.
Set Monday, the meeting is at 6:30 p.m. at the Sutter-Yuba Association of Realtors, 1558 Starr Drive, Yuba City.
Doors open at 6 p.m. Admission is free.

Scholarships for driving class given
The first recipients were named in the Youth Driving Scholarship sponsored by the Yuba-Sutter Indo American Business Association.
Recipients include Vicente Gonzalez, Christina Scellato, Navalpreet Dhillon and Ekika Concepcion, all of Yuba City; Caitlyn Warwick of Dobbins; and Pardeep Sahota of Live Oak.
The youth each receive a certificate for driving lessons at a driving school in Yuba City, valued at $300.
Awards will be presented at a private dinner at the Curry Leaf Restaurant in Yuba City.
Applications are being accepted for the next scholarships to be given away in June.

SUTTER COUNTY
Heckman will be guest speaker
Sutter County Superior Court Judge Sarah Heckman will be the guest speaker at the Sutter-Yuba Republican Women Federated luncheon meeting.
With a Cobb salad buffet, the meeting starts at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Ruthy's restaurant, 229 Clark Ave., Yuba City.
Cost for the luncheon is $16, including tax and tip.

Safari fundraiser slated May 4
Table sponsorships are available for the annual banquet fundraiser hosted by the Sutter Buttes Chapter of Safari Club International.
The event starts at 5 p.m. May 4 at the Bonanza Inn Convention Center, 1001 Clark Ave., Yuba City.
Activities include a dinner of filet mignon at 7 p.m., followed by silent and live auctions.
Donations are also being accepted for auction prizes.
Tickets are $75 per person; $125 per couple; or $600 for a table for eight.
Early Bird opportunity packets can be purchased until April 5.
