Classroom Notes: Feb. 28, 2013

Tierra Buena Elementary School

Yuba City

• Today, students and staff will have an earthquake and evacuation drill at 9:40 a.m.

• On Friday the fourth-, fifth- and sixth-grade students will compete in the Tierra Buena Spelling Bee.

• Friday is the end of the second trimester for kindergarten through fifth grades. It is the end of the first progress reporting period in the second semester for sixth through eighth grades.

• It is Dr. Suess Day where many of the lower grade classes have special events.

• The Tierra Buena Band will take part in the all district band concert at 7 p.m. Monday at River Bend School.

• On Tuesday the fourth- and seventh-graders will take the first part of STAR testing for this year with a writing exam.

Lincoln Elementary School

Yuba City

• The second trimester for the 2012-13 school year ends Friday.

• Monday is the first day to register for kindergarten for the 2012-13 school year.

• The first step in the STAR testing for this year will be Tuesday when the fourth-graders will take the writing exam.

Encinal Elementary School

Live Oak

• The winter concert tour from Franklin School visited Encinal School last week. Sixth-, seventh- and eighth-graders played solos and band songs.
