Life briefs: Health music concert today

Marysville

A Transformational Healing Music Concert is planned from 7 p.m.-9 p.m. today at the Center for Spiritual Living, 103 D St., Marysville.

Featured performers Anton Mizerak and Laura Berryhill from Mount Shasta will present an evening of Celtic songs, myths and stories, healing music and participatory chants from around the world.

Admission is free, with donations accepted.

Family baby shower planned

Expectant parents in Yuba County are invited to a family baby shower sponsored by the Yuba County Health and Human Services.

Games, prizes and refreshments are part of the event open to Yuba County residents that is scheduled from 10 a.m.-11:30 a.m. Thursday at 5730 Packard Ave., suite 100, Linda.

Parents will receive health information for new babies.

E-waste event set at market

A free e-waste event is planned from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. March 9 at New Earth Market, 1475 Tharp Road, Yuba City, part of the business' second-year anniversary celebration.

The community is invited to drop off electronic waste products free of charge, with the service provided by Sims Recycling.

Free compost also will be available for pick-up.

'Cowgirl Bling' is luncheon theme

"Cowgirl 'Bling'" is the theme of this month's luncheon sponsored by the Christian Women's Connection.

Featuring a speaker from The Mercantile gift shop, the luncheon is from 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. March 12 at The Harvest Room at New Earth Market, 1465 Tharp Road, Yuba City.

The program includes music by the Swift Family Fiddlers and speaker Paula Abbott.

Cost for the luncheon is $15, inclusive.

Sutter North seeks volunteers

Applications are being accepted from people age 18 and over interested in a new volunteer program with Sutter Medical Foundation.

Prior health care experience is not necessary.

Duties will include guiding patients to appointments or locations and clerical work for various departments.
