100th birthday: Riggen
Ruth Riggen of Yuba City received a lei from Hawaii from a niece during festivities celebrating her 100th birthday.
Her niece Sandy, from Hawaii, was among the 50 family and friends from areas including Alaska, Tennessee, Texas and Oregon who attended the event Feb. 23 in Yuba City, co-hosted by daughters Janet Pfeffer of Yuba City and Judy Christopher of Oregon.

Ruth Riggen was born Feb. 22, 1913, in Missouri and has been a Yuba-Sutter resident for 17 years.
A retired seamstress, she lived in Michigan and Oregon before settling in Yuba City.
Her family also includes five stepsons, Ray, Mike, Bob, Lloyd and Cecil Riggen and son, the late Charles Mance, plus many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
