Yuba baseball's winning streak snapped by Lassen

The Yuba College baseball team saw its three-game winning streak come to an end with a 13-6 loss to visiting Lassen at Appeal-Democrat Park in Marysville on Tuesday afternoon.

The 49ers (7-5) led 5-1 after two innings of play before giving up three runs in the fourth and six more in the fifth as Lassen went on to rack up 22 hits off three Yuba pitchers.

Despite the setback, right fielder Dustyn Macaluso continued to swing a hot bat for Yuba by hitting a three-RBI double as part of the Niners' five-run second inning.

Wheatland High product Tyler Kreditor went 2 for 2 with an RBI and Taylor Maxwell was 2 for 5 with an RBI for Yuba, which collected nine hits in the game. Jimmy Basinger doubled and scored twice, and Dallas Cummings added an RBI single in the loss.

It was the final non-conference tune-up for the 49ers, who will travel to San Pablo to face Contra Costa on Thursday for their Bay Valley Conference opener.
