Resident supports Yuba Highlands plan
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Why do we elect people if we keep spending taxpayer money for ballot questions overriding their decisions?
The world population is growing, U.S. population is growing, California population is growing. If we don’t give people a place to live, then they will go to Placer or Sacramento counties with their tax monies, or Butte County, and send their traffic through Marysville on Highway 70. Yuba Highlands at least would only affect Linda or Wheatland. If the Highlands developer helps Caltrans with bypasses, they also would be spared.
This means more taxes for Yuba County, and taxes is what it’s all about. In my opinion, anyone against tax income must be independently rich or on welfare.
As for Beale Air Force Base, the base closure commission will close the base only when it’s economically feasible for the government to do so, whether one house or 500,000 houses are built near the base.
I, for one, like to see the U2 and other planes fly over my house (I miss the SR-71). I don’t see how Yuba Highlands would be affected by this air traffic any more than I am as the runway is on the west end of the base and Yuba Highlands will be on the east.
As you see, I’m okay with the Yuba Highlands project, and would love to see better roads so I can get to Sacramento faster. Less flood insurance or farm land usage.
