Military notes from Sunday's paper
Army National Guard Pvt. Charles H. Benson, son of Charles H. and Deborah M. Benson of Yuba City, graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga.
He is a 2007 graduate of Albert Powell High School in Yuba City.

Air Force Airman Won I. Yi graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.
A 2004 graduate of Navarre High School in Florida, he is the brother of Chi Yi of Beale Air Force Base.

Navy Reserve Seaman Recruit Donald Medina, son of Florina and Jose H. Medina of Arbuckle, completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.
He is a 2007 graduate of Pierce High School in Arbuckle.
