Letter: Donation jar theft a sad commentary

Comments 0 | Recommend 0

My husband and I paid a visit to the Sutter Buttes Canine Rescue Thrift store, 730 Bridge St., in Yuba City this morning. We were deeply saddened to learn that in the afternoon on Sept.16, a young man stole the donation jar off the counter. One of the volunteers gave a chase to no avail. It's a sad commentary for our community when punks resort to stealing from nonprofit organizations.

If anyone has any information, please contact the Yuba City Police Department at 822-4667.

BACK TO SCHOOL?
The new GI Bill benefits vary from state to state depending on tuition and fees, replacing the previous flat stipend, and also includes a formula for private college assistance. Do you agree with this approach?
Yes, it allows veterans more choices of where to attend college.
I like it, but the private school policy is flawed in California.
I think it's too generous.
No, it pits states against each other.
