Letter: Bok Kai celebration impresses attendee

Comments 0 | Recommend 0

This past Saturday (April 18), I had the privilege to attend "An Evening of Asian Art and Culture" presented by our local Sutter Buttes Garden Club.

I have lived in the Yuba-Sutter area all my life and have never made the time to see and experience the beauty and reverence of the Bok Kai Temple and its surroundings.

The reception and auction following the tour were infused with Asian influence to complete this stunning evening.

I would like to thank all those who helped with the execution of this finely detailed celebration, especially Bob Bigham, Becky Anderson and Kay Matsumura, who were the chairs,

and also Janice Nall, whose never-ending support of our Asian heritage in the Yuba-Sutter area is always present at such events.

Cynthia Struckmeyer

PAY HIKE?
What should the board of trustees do with the proposed $29,282 pay raise for Chancellor Nicki Harrington?
Rescind it. Now is not the time.
Give it to her. She should be compensated fairly and competitively.
