Letter: Resident heartened by patriotism
Comments 0 | Recommend 0I thank the city fathers of Yuba County and Sutter County for flying the American flag on the Fourth of July 2009. I especially noticed all the red, white and blue decorations each store at the mall in Yuba City and also all the shops on downtown D street in Marysville.
The Veterans Memorial grounds in Yuba City were ceremonially decorated to commemorate the remembrance of those men and women who served our country well. And the Veterans Memorial Park in Marysville commemorated the deceased with many flags. The D Street flags in Marysville flew on top of the arches and along the sidewalk.
How can we forget the Great War of Sept. 11, 2001? America, let’s pray; each person in his or her own way. Let’s seek peace and harmony now and always.
Fellow Yuba-Sutter citizens, I encourage you to attend the Veterans Day Parade on Nov. 12, 2009, along downtown D Street. Let’s show bipartisan support for our returned troops to rebuild and re-establish America.
Once again, thank you, city fathers.
