'Ride for Life' at fitness club
Northside Fitness and the Yuba City Racquet and Health Club are co-hosting a "Ride for Life" with 50 spin bikes set up for 10 teams of 10 people.
The fee is $25 a seat, paid by Monday, and $35 thereafter.
The event will be held at 9 a.m. Dec. 5 at the old Grocery Outlet, 1529 Colusa Ave., Yuba City. For more information, call Schatzi Richardson at 870-2259.

BloodSource fetes 'Season of Giving'
BloodSource centers in Yuba City, Chico and Redding are celebrating the "Season of Giving" in December as part of the holidays, with blood donors receiving a T-shirt and a coupon for a pint of Baskin-Robbins ice cream.
The organization suggests giving blood or a blood component or joining the Be the Match marrow registry as a gift during the holiday. The "Season of Giving" is Dec. 1 to 24.
Donors must be weigh at least 110 pounds, be in good general health and 17 years or older, or 16 with a signed parental consent form.

Gifts of Love aid hospice program
The public can acknowledge someone special in living tribute or in memory while supporting nonprofit health care through the Gifts of Love program sponsored by the Sutter North Medical Foundation.
An ornament for each individual recognized will be hung on one of the foundation's Trees of Love on display Nov. 30 to Dec. 31 at 440 Plumas St., Yuba City, or at the Brownsville clinic.
All funds raised benefit Sutter North Hospice.

Sutter North quilt tour raises funds
The Sutter North "Floral Memories" quilt, in honor of lost loved ones, recently completed its tour of the Yuba-Sutter community, raising awareness and more than $3,400 for Sutter North Hospice.
The quilt, raffled off Nov. 9, was created by the Nimble Thimbles quilting club of Yuba City, a group of women who make and donate quilts to local nonprofit groups to help them raise funds.
