Mary C. Jenkins
Mary Calista Higgins Jenkins, 88, of Live Oak died Sept. 22, 2006, at Summerfield Senior Care Center in Yuba City.
Born in Live Oak, she was a longtime Yuba-Sutter resident.
She was a homemaker and taught physical education at the California School for the Deaf in Berkeley and in Alameda and Oakland high schools.
A 1941 graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, she earned a degree in physical education.
She was a longtime member of the Peach Tree Country Club, Yuba-Sutter Orchestra and St. John's Episcopal Church, most recently attending Trinity Life Church in Yuba City.
Survivors include two daughters, Sylvia Lamon of Yuba City and Jan Schmidl of Live Oak; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Bruce Talman Jenkins; and a sister, Wilberta H. Edgar.

Services: A graveside service is scheduled at 11 a.m. Friday at Live Oak Cemetery, 3545 Pennington Road, Live Oak. A service will be also be held for the late Bruce Jenkins, with military honors provided by the U.S. Navy. Arrangements are under the direction of Ullrey Memorial Chapel in Yuba City.
