Elsie A. Mitchell
Elsie A. Mitchell, 82, of Roseville died Jan. 26, 2006, at Mercy San Juan Hospital in Sacramento.
Born in Yuba City, she was a Yuba-Sutter resident for 75 years, living in Sutter and Yuba City.
She was a longtime employee of Rideout Memorial Hospital, retiring in 1978.
She attended Franklin Elementary School and was a graduate of Sutter Union High School.
Survivors include two sons, John Rice of Yuba City and Daniel Rice of Pollock Pines; two daughters, Jacqui Rice-Rogers of Roseville and Rae Rice of Fair Oaks; two stepdaughters; a stepson; three brothers, Alban Byer of Yuba City, William Byer of Pollock Pines and Harold Byer of Grass Valley; three sisters, Cathilea O'Shea of Yuba City, Berniece Parcher of Grass Valley and Waltha Meischke of Hot Springs; 14 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Jack C. Rice and Glen Mitchell; and a son, Randall L. Rice.

Services: A memorial service is scheduled at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Sutter United Methodist Church, 7751 S. Butte Road, Sutter. Inurnment arrangements are under the direction of Lombard and Co. Funeral Directors in Sacramento.
